Man ļoti patīk doma par reģionālajiem maršrutiem, Latvijā – Salacgrīva – Bauska ar vairākām pieturām (sakarā ar Rail Baltica šeit). Manuprāt, tas ir tieši tas, kas ir vajadzīgs vietējai un reģionālajai cilvēku mobilitātei. Tagadēja padomiskā sabiedriskā transporta sistēma ir izcili archaiska un pēc būtības nebija mainījusies no 1950. gadiem.

Mobilitāte nepieļauj izolētību un līdz ar to ir ļoti efektīvs līdzeklis reģionu slimību ārstēšanai. Pašlaik vienīgā vieta, kur efektīvā mobilitāte ir nodrošināta ir Rīgas lidosta. Tas ir super svarīgi Latvijas saiknei ar ārpasauli. Bet mēs visi labi saprotam, kas ir šīs monētas otra puse. Jo archaiskāka ir dzīve iekšpusē, jo efektīvāk nostrādā efektīvi noregulētā ar ārpusi savienojošā mobilitāte. Archaiskā sabiedriskā transporta sistēma pārvērš starptautisko lidostu par putekļsūcēju. Jo nesavienojamāka ar globalizācijas prasībām ir dzīve un domāšana iekspusē, jo populārāks ir ‘exit’.
Tāpēc kā gaiss ir nepieciešama iekšējā mobilitāte, infrastruktūras pārbūve un moderni risinājumi sabiedriskajam transportam. Ir dārgi.
